Sambucus Nigra (Black Elderbery)

Type: Native Tree/Shrub

Height: 8-20' tall; 8-20' spread

Sun: Full sun to partial shade

Flowers: White

Water: Medium to wet well-drained soils

 

Tinywhite flowers appear in large flat-topped clusters in June. Clusters of black elderberry fruits appear late summer, and are attractive to wildlife. Can also be used to  make jams, pie fillings and elderberry wine.
